Getting Outside

Happy April! We’ve been busy lately coming into spring, but we love the opportunity to work outside and enjoy the change of temps. One of those opportunities came in the form of siding last month. A family came to us (by referral) with an exterior of failing cedar lap siding. Unfortunately for them, the previous installers did not fasten it properly, shortening the lifespan or expectancy of the product. We were able to help them by removing the worst of it, replacing, and matching the failing areas to give their home many more years of a great appearance and overall protection. Check out these before and after photos...

Before - see the siding gaps and some are completely unattached.
Before #2 - more gaps and missing pieces in gable
After - siding has been replaced and painted
After #2 - much better! It's such a pretty house!

Another family was looking for easier access to their pool for this upcoming season. Their attached, carriage garage had a great access point, so we cut in and installed a service door for them, so now they can step right into their back yard and straight to their pool! We patched their existing brick, added a small paver patio, and electric for a coach light and it made for such a cute entrance. Check out the pictures; doesn't it look like the door was there all along?! We also built custom shelving throughout their garage for their personalized use of the space. We’re talking room for everything from their lawn tools, pool equipment, to their pool noodles and rafts!

Taking it back indoors, we revisited a family from a previous basement renovation and updated their staircase. They were looking fora more modern look, so we replaced their railings and newel posts (even routering a custom detail on the top of those said posts). Like I said before, it’s part of a larger project so I’ll eventually share pictures of their entire basement. As you'll see in the pictures, staining and flooring still needs to be done but it's already a huge upgrade!
